Glossary

The vocabulary IRIS uses, the way your planners use it.

Order proposal
The quantity IRIS suggests ordering for one SKU in one store, before validation.
Service level
The share of demand served from stock over a period, per SKU, store or network.
Coverage
Days of forecast demand covered by current stock plus stock in transit.
Safety stock
Extra stock held to absorb forecast error and supplier delay at a target service level.
Transit warehouse
Goods in transit between the central warehouse and stores, deducted from the need (« DI » in Sage).
Lead time
Days between purchase order and receipt, computed by IRIS from real deliveries.
MAPE
Mean absolute percentage error, the forecast accuracy measure tracked per SKU and store.
Tester
A unit used for demonstration, allocated at order validation and excluded from sellable stock.
GWP
Gift with purchase, a promotional item ordered with a campaign and tracked separately.
ABC classification
Ranking of references by revenue, margin or volume into A, B and C classes.
